. Here, as a pampered rich singleton, he’s neither fit nor funny. It’s a silly story, from start to finish, with a cranky old millionaire (Prem Chopra) selecting six losers as his legal heirs, before hitting the bucket. The odd assortment of thakela folks includes an out-of-work model (Upen Patel), a film-crazy starlet (Hansika Motwani), a bleeding-heart fashion designer (Celina Jaitley), a bumbling copywriter (Aftab Shivdasani) and a rustic entrepreneur (Manoj Bajpai). Not forgetting fat and unfit runaway son, Govinda who tries to become the manager of the vela bunch. Add to this a lusty Archana Puran Singh and a scheming villain and you have a comedy that doesn’t make you laugh. It makes you cry with the sheer inanity of the proceedings.

It’s disturbing to see actors like Govinda and Manoj Bajpai plunging to such depths. Not justified. Neither for money, nor for honey.
The film fails to click with the audience mainly because of extremely poor editing and a weak script. Director Acharya takes his own time to introduce each character, and as soon as the film’s story begins to shape up, the screen offers you ‘intermission’.
The story revolves around six characters including Govinda (Bobby), who prefers to live in the present, and doesn’t bother much about the future. Manoj Bajpai (Lala Bhai) wins a lottery and becomes wealthy, but within months he loses all his money as he had no good knowledge of business. He gets fired from his company and dumped by his girlfriend. Upen Patel (Manik) is a struggling model, but his endorsement is limited to cheap undergarments. He then gets to meet Archana Puran Singh (Dolly Kumari), a successful and single middle-aged fashion designer. Hoping to get a bigger campaign, he sleeps with her, supposedly against his wish.
Hansika, starring opposite Govinda, plays a struggling television actor trying to make it big in films. Manoj Bajpai, for the first time, would be seen playing a comic role in the movie.
Shruti (Celina Jaitley), a struggling dress designer, sells her designs to Dolly Kumari at a cheap price. Dolly Kumari puts her own tag and sells her clothes, more than double the price.
One fine day, the six get a call from a dying man Mr Jaiswal (Prem Chopra), who nominates all of them to his company’s ownership. Soon, they realise that the firm is under debt, and it becomes their responsibility to bail the company out. How they manage to pull it off is what the movie has tried to show.
Govinda, unfortunately, is quite disappointing in the film. After his last hit ‘Partner’, one fails to understand what made Govinda consent to this film. Neither does the actor match his character, nor does his pair with Hansika, who is less than half his age, look somewhere close to decent. Even Manoj Bajpai does not live up to his talent. Celina, Hansika and Aftab leave the audience thoroughly disappointed.
‘Money Hai…’ flaunts nothing more than a bad script and a sucking storyline. One star!
