What is Odin:
Odin is a utility software developed and used internally by Samsung which can be used to flash firmware to a Samsung Android device. It is also used as a way of unbricking an Android device.

Download Mode:
In order to flash a Samsung device you must first put the phone into download mode.
Download Bl+ap+cp+home_csc J7 Pro
For S7 and lower:
- Hold Power + Volume Down + Home Button
- Once the warning screen appears release all the buttons
- Press Volume Up button to enter download mode
For S8 and higher:
- Hold Power + Volume Down + Bixby Button
- Once the warning screen appears release all the buttons
- Press Volume Up button to enter download mode
Flashing Stock Firmware:
There are two different types of stock firmware you can flash with odin.
1. 4 File Firmware
4 file firmware’s usually will have 6 files when you download them.
When your flashing stock the main ones you need to concern yourself with are BL,AP,CP,CSC these 4 files when loaded into odin will give you a stock phone.
Home_CSC is mainly for recovering data, if you were messing around with flashing stuff and ended up corrupting your phones firmware but still want your data you can flash HOME_CSC instead of CSC and it will not wipe your data. After using HOME_CSC its always best to re-flash stock with CSC after backing up all your data to ensure your completely stock.
The file with .pit extension is for advanced users who knows what there doing, it tells the phone were each part of the firmware should be flashed at and is usually included in the firmware itself do not mess with this file unless you know what you are doing.
To load the 4 file firmware you simply open odin and press the BL button, navigate to your BL file and open it do the same thing for AP,CP,CSC. You will notice when you open AP it will take a minute to load in this is because its the largest file and takes awhile to check the MD5.
Once all of the files are in odin you can connect your phone you know its connected when you see the com port added.
Now just press start and wait for odin to say pass then disconnect your phone and wait for it to boot up.
2. 1 File Firmware
1 file firmware has all the partitions of the rom inside just 1 file these are generally older firmware. To use 1 file firmware just simply flash the file under AP tab.
Flashing ENG Root/ENG Boot:
Eng Root/Eng Boot are files used mostly for unlocking and removing google lock. Usually these files are made from a custom kernel or the boot.img from factory firmware. Using 7Zip and opening archive of a Eng Root or Eng Boot you will see only a boot.img file inside.
To Flash Eng Root or Eng boot open odin, click AP and navigate to the file and press start it should only take a few seconds to flash.
Flashing Combination Firmware/Factory Firmware:
A combination file is very useful, it is a file leaked from Samsung which they use to run extensive tests on including water prof, LCD, Camera, Speakers, and other functions.
Flashing combination firmware is very simple just put your phone into download mode add combination file to the AP section of odin and press start.
What is Odin Prince Comsy:
Prince Comsy Odin is a modified version of the original odin. It is very helpful in rooting and converting phones model numbers. It can help fix SHA_256 error and model mismatch errors you can come across using the original odin.

Download Odin v3.13.3
Extract the firmware file you just downloaded. You should get 5 files:
AP (System &Recovery)
BL (Bootloader)
CP (Modem / Radio)
CSC_*** (Country / Region / Operator)
HOME_CSC_*** (Country / Region / Operator)
Add each file to it's respective field in Odin v3.13.3. Use CSC_*** if you want to do a clean flash or HOME_CSC_*** if you want to keep your apps and data. Reboot your phone in Download / Odin mode (make sure your device is off) with the following button combo: POWER + VOLUME DOWN + BIXBY Other options in case first option did not work or isn't possible.
Option 2 VOLUME DOWN + VOLUME UP than USB cable
Option 3 POWER + VOLUME DOWN + VOLUME UP
Option 4 POWER + VOLUME DOWN + HOME BUTTON
Option 5 (Note9) USB cable + VOLUME DOWN + BIXBY
Once in download mode, connect your phone to the PC, preferably using the original USB cable you got with your phone. Odin should detect your device and a BLUE box will show up with the COM port number. (Be sure, the SAMSUNG-drivers are installed on your PC!)
Do NOT tick any extra boxes. The only options to be ticked are F.Reset Time and Auto-Reboot.
Click the start button, wait for Odin to say 'PASS' in a GREEN box. Once the flash is complete, your phone will reboot, and you can disconnect your phone from the PC.
